This is how we establish the technical foundation for comprehensive veterinary dental care. Combined with ongoing continuing education for our entire team, we treat our patients in accordance with the latest guidelines in veterinary dentistry— DGT—German Society for Veterinary Dentistry, VAINS—Anesthesia and Pain Management, WSAVA—Global Dental Guidelines.
Dental X-rays
Digital dental X-rays can detect conditions that are not located in the crown of the tooth but rather in the area of the tooth root and the surrounding jawbone. Since these conditions account for the majority of all dental diseases, they remain hidden during an examination of the tooth with a dental probe and cannot be detected without an X-ray.
A radiological examination using an X-ray sensor inserted into the oral cavity allows for a clear, interference-free image of individual teeth. This makes it possible to determine whether there is an underlying dental condition and what type of treatment should be used. This is particularly important in cats. These animals are prone to a disease in which the enamel dissolves due to an immune-mediated process (resorptive lesions—RL or FORL). There are two basic forms of this condition, which require completely different treatments and can only be distinguished from one another through dental X-rays. Therefore, when a dental examination or treatment is planned for a cat, all teeth should be X-rayed. In dogs, too, there are many cases in which it is necessary to X-ray teeth for a definitive diagnosis.
Modern Dental Treatment Unit
To ensure professional and precise dental care, our veterinary practice in Berlin-Neukölln is equipped with a modern dental unit. It allows us to perform various dental procedures efficiently and gently—tailored to the individual needs of our animal patients.
With the integrated drilling unit, we can treat teeth with precision and, for example, prepare them for fillings or root canal treatments. It also allows for the precise removal and shaping of bone, such as during surgical tooth extractions. For professional teeth cleaning, we use special instruments to thoroughly remove tartar and then polish the tooth surfaces. This smooths the surfaces and makes it more difficult for plaque to build up again.
Modern Anesthesia Management – Safety for Your Pet
Your pet’s health and safety are our top priority. That’s why, for every dental procedure performed on dogs, cats, rabbits, or guinea pigs at , we place special emphasis on modern, individually tailored anesthesia management.
At our veterinary practice in Berlin-Neukölln, all dental procedures for dogs and cats are performed under gentle inhalation anesthesia with intubation. This involves inserting a tube into the trachea to secure the airway and allow for a controlled supply of oxygen and anesthetic gas. This procedure ensures safe and easily controllable anesthesia throughout the entire treatment.
Continuous anesthesia monitoring allows us to monitor important vital signs—such as heart rate, ECG, respiration, carbon dioxide levels, and oxygen supply—during the procedure. This enables us to closely monitor the course of anesthesia and respond as needed.
Another important aspect is our thermal management. Since animals can easily become chilled during anesthesia, it is important to ensure an adequate supply of heat and to monitor their body temperature. At our practice in Berlin-Neukölln, we use a special warm-air blower and a special heating pad for this purpose. The patient lies on a soft, warm air cushion throughout the entire operation. This helps ensure a stable course of anesthesia and makes the recovery phase as comfortable as possible.
Whether it's tartar removal and preventive care, dental restoration using tooth-preserving procedures such as fillings, periodontal treatment, root canal therapy, or other surgical procedures: We combine modern technology with careful monitoring and personalized care.
