Preventive Care

At our veterinary clinic, we are pleased to provide comprehensive advice on necessary vaccinations, microchip identification, and antiparasitics for both domestic and international travel. Different age groups present different concerns. To ensure optimal care for your pet, we conduct specialized examinations and consultations for geriatric patients and their specific needs, and we advise on pain therapies.

  • Vaccinations provide essential protection against epidemics. At our clinic, we use vaccines that guarantee high and long-lasting efficacy and optimal tolerability.

We are happy to advise you on which vaccinations your pet requires to achieve optimal immunization.

Every vaccination at our clinic naturally includes a thorough general examination with detailed assessments of individual organ systems. For animals aged eight years and older, regular blood tests are recommended.

  • We are happy to advise you on prophylactic measures against ectoparasites and worms.

Especially before traveling to southern countries, you should use specific preparations for your pet that are effective against the vectors of the so-called "travel or Mediterranean diseases." These diseases are often incurable and can manifest with very severe courses.

  • In Berlin, microchip identification is mandatory for dogs aged 6 months and older, for animals requiring an EU pet passport for international travel, and for free-roaming cats.

A transponder chip is implanted under the animal's skin using a sterile cannula. The chip's 15-digit individual numerical code can be read with a scanner. The animal can then be registered with a central registration body such as TASSO, making it possible to identify the owners of lost animals. Dogs must also be registered in the central dog register.

  • When planning a trip, it is crucial to be aware of the varying requirements of different countries. These include specific vaccinations, deworming, and blood tests for rabies antibodies. Furthermore, especially for southern Mediterranean countries, it is important to prevent so-called travel diseases with appropriate antiparasitics.

  • We advise you on the various clinical pictures that particularly affect the aging body. These include high blood pressure, heart problems, kidney diseases, and hormonal disorders such as hyperthyroidism, diabetes, and adrenal gland issues.

  • To treat chronic and acute pain, we place great emphasis on modern medications and optimal pain management during surgical procedures.

For this purpose, we utilize various therapy protocols tailored to your animal's underlying condition and age.

Especially for older animals and in the treatment of chronic pain, combinations of different medications can often be used to ensure your pet enjoys the best possible quality of life.

  • Due to genetically predisposed misalignments or improper loading, arthrosis can develop over an animal's lifetime. This significantly impairs their quality of life and restricts their movement. We offer manual therapies, electrotherapy, and home exercises. Older patients, in particular, benefit from muscle-building exercises and relaxing massages.

Geriatric Patients

As our beloved companions grow older, their needs change. Therefore, preventive examinations for the early detection of easily treatable diseases now come to the fore. From the age of about 8 years, we recommend a blood test as part of the annual check-up. You are welcome to have this done at the same time as your routine check-up and vaccination.

When organ and cardiovascular diseases, as well as musculoskeletal disorders, are detected early and treated appropriately, this generally leads to a longer lifespan with a significantly improved quality of life.
